I am a husband and father of an almost-three-year old girl, Amara Deva–the most brilliantly shining soul I have ever known. A few years ago, after learning of the conception of Amara, I decided to directly address my Gen-X Slackeritis and Get My Shit Together, returning to school and completing my BA, with a focus in creative writing, cosmology, and spirituality. I recently returned to the Nexus of the Universe–aka Boulder, Colorado–where I grew up for most of the '80s, and after balking at the cost of Naropa University, began graduate school at Regis University in Denver for Counseling Psychology. A few months ago I decided to quit the psychotherapy field and dropped out of grad school. I have since decided to pursue my other career interest, and get training as a Waldorf high school teacher, while continuing work on my Great Work, a cosmological, quasi-mystical, fantasy epic of Enormously, Nauseatingly, Epic Proportions.

I am interested in the emergence of integral-planetary consciousness, having focused on Ken Wilber's work for about a decade, recently moving into other approaches, works and authors, especially the Western esoteric traditions as exemplified and modernized by Rudolf Steiner. I view integral consciousness to be much more than the work or theory of Ken Wilber any one hominid, that it is literally the beginning of the awakening of the Planetary Mind or World Soul. I feel that participation or conscious engagement is of key importance, on whatever level. It is better to throw oneself in and get knocked around by the currents of this agonistic transformation into a global culture than stay removed, dissociated, and dormant. It is the task of my generation to (re-)awaken the forces of Will and harmonize them with Thinking and Feeling to pave the way for the emergence of the Anthropos, the Heart-Awakened Human, and the spiritualization of the manifest realm, Sophia.

May we participate in this grand evolutionary experiment and thereby transform the cacophonous chaos of our current era into a beautiful symphonic play that nourishes individualistic expression in the context of communal, global, harmony–so that we may manifest our cosmic destiny as the Children of Gaia embracing the stars.
